ADDRESSING THE BAY OF PIGS INVASION AND THE CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS

The beach invasion, also known as the Bay of Pigs invasion, was a CIA operation with Cuban exiles seeking to overthrow Fidel Castro. While the Kennedy administration was planning Operation Mongoose in July 1962, Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev reached a private agreement with the Cuban Prime Minister, Fidel Castro, with the purpose of placing Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba to deter any future invasion attempt.

Today, March 23, 2024, in the Kennedy committee, the tension between the Soviet Union and the United States is recognized as the cause for nuclear missiles in Cuba. A resolution was passed in the efforts to eliminate this situation.

Some of those involved in this resolution were the following: Vice President Johnson, Secretary of the Interior Udall, etc... Reading the resolution you can see how the delegates worked together to reach a useful resolution and here are some interviews that prove it.

Press Secretary Salinger, Elein García, was asked how this resolution affected her delegation, to which he responded that the most important thing for the United States in security. Since it would not be good for national security to suffer more wars, this resolution promotes security.

Special Assistant Counsel, Carolina Esquivel, was asked about her support for this resolution to which the delegate responded that she is focused on making several proposals until she finds the most appropriate one.

Secretary Rusk, Parker Poppen was asked what can he do to help this resolution. To which he responded “We would help by neutralizing the threats at hand and conclude with a diplomatic solution.”
